Exploring the Potential of Cord Blood to Treat Diabetes, Neurological Diseases
Published on: Tuesday 27, October 2009Immunotherapy has the potential of being used as a treatment for Type 1 diabetes; however, more data and additional studies are needed, according to Michael Haller, MD, assistant professor of pediatric endocrinology at the University of Florida. Haller presented his finding during the 2009 AABB Anual Meeting and TXPO along with Joanne Kurtzberg, MD, who focused on how cord blood might be able to treat neurological diseases of the brain in pediatric patients.
